Milwaukee Brews up Mega Deal
Sunday, December 15th, 2013: After a week of negotiations, the Yankees and Brewers have come to terms on a deal that will send 29-year-old third baseman Ryan Zimmerman and 30-year-old first baseman Mark Reynolds to Milwaukee for 30-year-old closer John Axford, 29-year-old third baseman Chris Johnson and 21-year-old minor league shortstop Edmund Jackson. Zimmerman is batting .286 lifetime with 1355 hits, 295 doubles, 17 triples, 200 home runs, 766 RBIs to date. He has also scored 715 runs.
Johnson has played in 469 games with a .274 career batting average and 461 hits. He also has scored 194 runs and driven in 202 runs with 49 home runs.

Cubs Sign Jake Peavy
Saturday, December 7th, 2013: Team insiders were tight-lipped prior to today's deal that brought 32-year-old starting pitcher Jake Peavy to Chicago.Peavy is considered one of the league's A-list players and certainly will enhance any chances the Cubs have to win a playoff spot this year.
Thus far in his career, Peavy has put up a won-loss record of 131-108. Lifetime he has an ERA of 3.43, struck out 2051 batters and held opposing teams to a .233 batting average.
